Phoenix Suns have a bunch of young guards that can definitely play in this league. From starter Eric Bledsoe and Devin Booker to new sixth man Brandon Knight and rookie Tyler Ulis. Unfortunately, they had to make a decision when it came to their guard rotation and there seems to be an odd man out.
Archie Goodwin was reportedly released by the club today.

Goodwin is a young, bouncy combo guard and is never afraid to go up against anyone. During his time with Phoenix, he’s done it all. He’s hit game-winning shots, dunked on big men and even got into a fight on the bench. Goodwin had a pretty solid preseason campaign, highlighted by his game-winning dunk against the Utah Jazz.
Unless the Suns dealt Knight or Bledsoe to another team, like they have been rumored to be doing for a while, Goodwin would almost certainly be the odd man out. Devin Booker has blossomed into a young star and Tyler Ulis was just drafted.
One thing is for sure, with Goodwin on the market, just about any team is bound to get a good guard on their roster who could end up being a solid starting guard in the league. He just needs to go somewhere that won’t limit his potential.
