
The Phoenix Suns have traded forward Anthony Tolliver to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for forward Tony Mitchell.
Mitchell was drafted with the 37th overall pick by the Pistons in the 2013 NBA Draft. He attending the university of North Texas where he averaged 13.7 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.9 blocks. In six games this season with the Grand Rapids Drive of the NBA Development League, he averaged 8.2 points and 7.2 rebounds. He also appeared in 21 games with Detroit last season, averaging 1.0 points and 1.2 rebounds.
Tolliver has played in 24 games this season with the Suns, averaging 3.3 points and 11.3 minutes. The 6-8, 240-pound veteran is in his seventh NBA season originally signed with the Suns as a free agent on July 21.
The Suns are expected to waive Mitchell, which will increase their salary cap space to $6.1 million.
