Over the last decade, the city of Atlanta has become the home of new trends and sounds within the world of rap. In recent memory, 21 Savage, Young Thug and many more have emerged with new sounds, styles, and looks. More recently, Gunna and Lil’ Baby have broken out as the new faces of Atlanta. With that being said, Atlanta has also given birth to a few new faces in R&B as well. During the last few years, Atlanta has given us new acts like 6lack and Swae Lee. Among the many looking to carry the sound forward is Summer Walker.
Emerging a few years ago with a Sound Cloud release called “Like Me”, the Atlanta based artist has steadily been building her sound and brands. Coming from the school of The Weeknd and H.E.R, the young vocalist keeps her identity somewhat mysterious. In recent weeks, she’s gained steamed thanks to her video for “Girls Need Love”. Building off the success of her most recent single, Summer has dropped her first full-length project. Featuring songs like “CPR”, “Smart Water” and “Deep”, the project does little to disappoint. Stream the full-length project above and be sure to catch the singer’s previous work on Sound Cloud as well.
