Ladies, Presidential Tripz decided to come through on Valentine’s Day to deliver y’all a ‘Quickie’. Get your minds out the gutter, it’s an EP for your listening pleasures. Just when I was getting on Tripz about dropping a new project, he pulls this stunt. Just in time for the day of love, music fans (couples or single) can sit back and vibe out to this project which offers up 4 brand new records from The Bronx native along with 3 skits.
The last we heard from Tripz he delivered a ‘U Mad‘ freestyle in November 2015 but to start his 2016 run off on the right track this quick little project offers up just enough to hold us down until he makes his next move.
With ‘Quickie’ being just really 4 songs, we get to see Tripz versatility on display which for many artist isn’t always the easiest thing to do. Don’t worry fellas the project isn’t completely for the women as ‘Soul Snatcher Pt.1’ is the anthem for what us fellas are looking for on Valentine’s Day. Hey, somebody had to say it. Good looks on holding it down, Tripz.
The beginning ‘Quickie’ skit set the tone off right for the project leading into the heavily popular TK N Cash ‘3 times in a row’. Focusing on the ladies here, the transition from ‘3 x’s in a row’ to the ‘Keisha skit’ was smart as it led into ‘Soul Snatcher Pt. 1’. Not only was the transition genius it also left us with an indication that now Tripz was going to provide a song for us fellas.
The TTPD Skit is self explanatory especially when you listen to his ‘Sex With Me’ Remix featuring Rihanna which is off her ‘ANTI’ album, the deluxe version. ‘Lingerie’ which ends the project off perfectly is my personal favorite and it features Mike Anthony. Overall, ‘Quickie’ is a good short body of work and offers up a look at what Tripz has to offer as we wait for the full length project that looks to follow up ‘No Luggage‘.
