The New York Knicks are truly mediocre. They are still struggling with the triangle (somehow). And now they’ve got another problem. Carmelo Anthony is injured. Back spasms.
The Knicks already have one player with back problems. Amar’e Stoudemire. For the past 3-4 years. Amar’e has been plagued with back problems. This season is the only indication that he’s been healthy. Which is good to see.
So if anybody knows back problems. It’s Amar’e Stoudemire. And when Carmelo Anthony got his injury, Amar’e immediately knew that it could possibly be a season long injury. He said to the New York Post that Melo should be worried.
“Back spasms is nothing easy to deal with,’’ Stoudemire said. “Your whole body shuts down, it affects your central nervous system. It affects your entire body. It takes time to get over that spasm. It takes a lot of rest and recovery and a lot of rehab to get over that particular injury.’’
Fisher said he spoke with Anthony Tuesday night and reported Anthony still is not feeling too well.
“I think he’s probably doubtful for tonight, just making some progress , but not enough I think to be in a game, so it will be day-to-day I’m sure,’’ Fisher said. “I checked in with him yesterday, but he’s not in a lot of comfort, so really just trying to rest up and get himself better.’’
This could be a possible problem. Remember when Amar’e was bossing in Phoenix? That life is a far cry from now.
Hopefully Melo doesn’t have the same level of back problems. But I really hope that New York doesn’t make it worse.
