
On Friday, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office declined to charge Steven Segal in a sexual assault case. The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office is being reported as having declined the charges because the statue of limitations had passed. The current case revolved around a 2002 incident in which the victim has yet to be revealed.
This is the second case of sexual assault involving the actor. The prior case resulted in the same outcome because of the statue of limitations. The prior case involved a incident from 1993 with an eighteen year old girl. Over the last few months, multiple women have alleged that Segal engaged in sexually harmful behavior. One woman by the name of Portia de Rossi tweeted about her alleged encounter with Segal. She tweeted, “My final audition for a Steven Seagal movie took place in his office. He told me how important it was to have chemistry off-screen as he sat me down and unzipped his leather pants. I? ran out and called my agent.” Another woman by the name of Jenny McCarthy recalled an incident in which Segal told her, “You know, this part has nudity in it, and I can’t really tell what your body looks like in that dress you’re wearing.”
Segal and his legal representation have yet to comment on the latest legal proceedings.
