The Baltimore Ravens 2015 campaign started off bad and is ending worse than fans anticipated. Injuries decimated the Ravens this season as top performers Terrell Suggs, Joe Flacco and Steve Smith Sr all went down due to injury and missed a majority of the season. Playmakers like Justin Forsett, Crockett Gilmore and two starting offensive linemen in Jeremy Zuttah and Eugene Monroe will all end the season on the injured reserve. Not to mention, they didn’t have their top pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, Breshad Perriman for the entire season and the Ravens will end 2016 with the highest number of injured players in the John Harbaugh era.
2016 has to feel like a great chance for the Ravens to come out and surprise people especially with the recent stellar play of young receiver Kamar Aiker and running back Javarious ‘Boom’ Allen along with a solid season from C.J. Mosley. 2016 could be the year the Ravens return and haunt NFL teams from 2015 so it’s only appropriate that they get one hell of a competitor to possibly make one last title run.
Steve Smith Sr, who said 2015 would be his last season in the NFL, will come back to the Ravens in 2016. An achilles injury ended Smith’s 2015 campaign but the fighter in the diminutive pass catcher won’t allow himself to go out like that.

Smith, who Smith will turn 37 in May, confirmed on Twitter that he plans to return, which will be the final year of his three-year, $10.5 million contract with the Ravens. Smith’s decision doesn’t come as a surprise to many considering the whispers that Smith was re-thinking his retirement decision even before he went down with the achilles injury in a November 1st Ravens victory over the San Diego Chargers. Smith was in the midst of a solid season with 46 caches for 670 yards and three touchdowns in just seven games played.
2016 could be a great year for the Baltimore Ravens if everyone is healthy and their top draft pick works out.
