One measure of a good player is his longevity in the NBA or with one franchise. Guys who stay in the NBA for a long time usually stay in for a reason. Whether they’re a bonefide star, a do-it-all guy or they do one thing very well, a true player will last longer than just a flash in the pan.
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr sees his player, forward Draymond Green, as one of those players.
From Mercury news Diamond Leung’s Twitter account.
Steve Kerr to KNBR: "Draymond's going to be part of this franchise for the next eight, 10 years."

His numbers this season don’t pop out and smack you in the face as a guy who will be around for a decade or let alone stay next year with the Golden State Warriors once his contract is up. He is a do-it-all type of guys, doing things for the team that aren’t measured by stats or analytical stats alone, you just have to watch him play and he’s been key for the Warriors playing big at the power forward spot, standing at only 6’7 but playing great defense and playing tough down low like a 7-footer.
There are talks about Green possibly getting a max deal off from another team when he becomes a free agent this off season. Whether that solely is to take him away from the Warriors or if it actually has legs and credibility to make him a star is yet to be seen.
If it was up to Kerr and possibly the Warriors management, they will keep him around for a lot of years to come because a core of Stephen Curry, Green and Klay Thompson would be exciting and fun to watch.
One thing is for sure though, if Steve Kerr and the Warriors continue their winning ways, I don’t think Kerr, Green or anyone important for that matter will be leaving Oakland anytime soon.
