After Golden State’s 103-102 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves Friday night, Andre Iguodala’s comments in his post-game interview caused some controversy. Towards the end of his interview, Iguodala was asked about Steve Kerr’s decision to sit starters for Saturday’s match-up against the San Antonio Spurs.

“Nope, no clue,” he said. “I do what master say.”
Once people caught wind of Iguodala’s comments many thought his racially charged remark was directed at head coach Steve Kerr. However, Iguodala quickly clarified his remarks because of the sheer outrage and misinterpretations.
“Me and Steve are cool,” Iguodala told ESPN. “[People] can think what they want to think.”
Before Saturday night’s game against San Antonio, Kerr was asked about the situation and he, like Iguodala, downplayed it all.

“You guys just got Andre’d,” Kerr said to a group of reporters prior to Saturday’s 107-85 loss to the San Antonio Spurs. “You got Andre’d.”
“Sure,” Kerr said, when asked if he has heard Iguodala talk like that before. “Like I said, Andre is extremely intelligent. He sees a lot of the hypocrisy in the world. He expresses his displeasure in strange ways at times. So he said what he said. I don’t think it meant a whole lot. I guess he has to answer that question, what he meant by that. I wasn’t offended by anything he said personally, but he chose some words that were questionable and he’s got to respond to that.”
Although his remarks may have been insensitive, it’s clear that the Warrior’s locker room and head coach didn’t take anything the wrong way and have quickly moved on from this.
