Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made a comment recently that led to some very interesting discussions:
Steve Kerr on how Michael Jordan would cope with Twitter noise: “There would have been so many more slights. He might have won more titles”

Kerr bringing up how social media could’ve affected Michael Jordan back in his prime years makes you think: What if Jordan saw the circulating “crying Jordan” memes before a rival game?
Jordan, Kerr’s teammate with the Bulls in the 90’s, is praised for having a mental tenacity that’s scarce in today’s league. The persistent, fearless attitude and persona Jordan flashed on a nightly basis intimidated opponents on the daily.
Jordan’s known for taking over Basketball games. He’s known for being the guy to take the game winner. He’s also known for absolutely destroying the competition, especially when that competition begins talking trash in his direction.
Jordan won six championships during his career, a number that certainly could’ve been higher if social media was around at the time. Any group of negative comments, criticism, or lack of belief in Jordan would have the potential to set off an atomic bomb in his mind.
The thought of Michael Jordan edging to respond to the mass criticism some face today is scary: The thought that Jordan could’ve, and the key word here is could’ve, been even more dominant during his 15-year career is even more mind-numbing.
