Steve Kerr you slippery snake! I see you with the underhanded tactics. Who knew that lying about the starting line-up would give a team such an edge!
If you don’t know the news. Kerr told reporters before the game that the lineup consisted of Andrew Bogut. But once the game came around, it was Andre Iguodala in the lineup and not Bogut. This got the reporters scratching their head, asking themselves ‘did Kerr jus lie to me?’ Well after the game Kerr immediately threw his hands up saying I lied.
Kerr said he had three choices when asked about the starting lineup.
He could tell the truth, which strategically he compared to knocking on the door of Cavs coach David Blatt and explaining the change.
He could avoid the question, which he said would start all sorts of speculation on Twitter about who would start.
Or he could lie.
“Sorry, but I don’t think they hand you the trophy based on morality,” Kerr said. “They give it to you if you win. So sorry about that.“
I’m wondering if Gregg Popovich saw this and went ‘why didn’t I think of that!’
This lineup change was probably a series saving change. Cleveland and Golden State players alike were praising how much of a beast Andre Iguodala was during Game Four. Question is, will Kerr go for it again?
