On Wednesday, June 25, 2025, Steve Caple Jr. reportedly launched a production banner, Grey Skies, under his first-look deal with Paramount. His first project under the banner is Ghost Fleet, a film inspired by the Dark Horse comic series created by Donny Cates. Dark Horse chronicles a “high-stakes mission to transport dangerous cargo that leads two men into the heart of a conspiracy that could destroy them both.”
In addition to Ghost Fleet, Caple Jr. and Grey Skies are wrapped up in the high-profile I Am Legend sequel with Will Smith and Michael B. Jordan.
“The world returns in a way that is kind of spectacular – an exciting playground for all of us – not your father’s I Am Legend,” Akiva Goldsman, I Am Legend and I, Robot writer, said.
Caple Jr. and Grey Skies are also wrapped up in Netflix’s Man On Fire, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as John Creasy.
“Man on Fire follows John Creasy, who was once a high-functioning and skilled Special Forces Mercenary known for surviving even the most desolate situations. However, John is now battling extreme PTSD and personal demons. As he attempts a fresh start, he’ll find himself back in the (metaphorical) fire and fighting harder than ever,” the description reads.
Caple Jr. will look to build upon a filmography that already includes The Land, Creed II, and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.
