Like most other New Yorkers Stephon Marbury has an opinion on the Knicks superstar pairing, and much like the majority out there, he questions whether the pieces fit. Marbury spoke to ESPN New York and gave his thoughts on why Amar’e Stoudemire couldn’t fit into the system Mike Woodson was employing.
“Amare needs a point guard like Steve Nash (to thrive). He’s a pick-and-roll guy, a pick-and-pop guy. He can’t play in the half court where everything’s slowed down,” Marbury told ESPN New York during a brief interview in Manhattan on Wednesday.
“I think they have a good team,” Marbury said. “They could make the second round (of the playoffs).”
