Oh man Stephen A Smith does not disappoint when it comes to dishing “Insider Knowledge”. Now you’d think that he would’ve learned from last time not to talk about Kevin Durant without confirming with Kevin Durant or at least someone in KD’s camp.
But OH NO, he goes and says to Mason & Ireland on ESPN 710 that the Lakers could be the potential landing spot for Kevin Durant, beating out Washington and Oklahoma City.
And before you read the quote, there’s an added tidbit that Stephen A puts on all this. The possibility that if KD goes to the Purple & Gold, Russell Westbrook will follow!

You know that bit in Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ where it goes “No no no no no no no!” that is what I was playing in my head when I was reading this.
This is such a reach, this is “Michael Jordan’s game winner in Space Jam” level of reaching by Stephen A.
Firstly, Westbrook has never shown signs of being a sheep. Secondly, how is it that suddenly the Lakers have leapfrogged both Oklahoma City AND Washington according to you Stephen? And thirdly, he doesn’t like constant media attention! You’ve basically replaced the biggest media market in New York and replaced it with the second biggest market in Los Angeles. Stephen A, no. Just no, this is too far fetched.
