Stephen Curry signed his endorsement sneaker deal with Under Armour and this collaboration is the first of many ways Under Armour is trying to get into the NBA/basketball world. With the All-Star Weekend coming up, Under Armour wanted to make a statement with Stephen Curry and his shoes. He was the number 1 voted player for the All-Star game, so Under Armour knows that Stephen Curry has the fans to bring a lot of brand awareness to Under Armour.
According to George Kiel III of Nice Kicks:
A trusted, unnamed source claims that Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry’s All-Star Weekend shoes were stolen in transit to Brooklyn yesterday. Steph was set to wear the “Candy Reign” Under Armour Curry One for the Foot Locker Three-Point Contest and the Charlotte Hornets-esque “Father to Son” pair for the Shooting Stars Competition.
“UA sent them out the quickest way possible as they usually do, but somehow the shoes magically went missing,” our source stated. “Steph almost missed a chance to debut his two favorite pairs this weekend, which would’ve have been a disaster.”
However, all is not lost, as our unnamed source says Curry will more than likely still wear those pairs, as UA acted fast by rushing up replacements.
That sucks to hear for Stephen Curry, but you knew Under Armour wasn’t going to miss this chance to raise awareness towards their brands, he is DEFINITELY going to show off these shoes.
