Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors is an MVP candidate (probably the MVP) and him and the Golden State Warriors are the number one team in the NBA, and the Western Conference. The Warriors finished a ridiculous 67-15 on the season, which makes them the 10th team in NBA history to ever win 67 games or more. 7 of the other 9 NBA teams have won after their seasons. Stephen Curry doesn’t want to be the 2 out of 9.
According to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports Stephen Curry wants to win:
“For the players, it is,” Curry told Yahoo Sports. “No one will be happy for anything less. If we don’t win our last game this season it’s going to be a disappointing feeling, one where we felt like we fell short.”
“We know we are going to get everybody’s best shot,” Curry said. “The regular season has prepared us for playoff situations. We’ve had a lot of double-digit wins, but we’ve really had to fight for 48 minutes every single night to make that happen. You’d probably look at it and say that’s easy. That’s great preparation for what we are going to have to go through.
“You just got to prepare. The feeling in the locker room is the exact same. You got to be very hungry. No one has changed, and I think that’s a big deal.”
It seems like Stephen Curry knows what it takes to win, but can they push through the tough Western Conference? With an MVP type player, a very improved Klay Thompson, and a player that could easily win Defensive player of the Year, Draymond Green.
Would the season completely fail? I don’t think so. A championship is not far away from what they can achieve and if they gain some valuable playoff experience this year, next year they will have an even better chance in winning a ring.
