Although the Golden State Warriors are up 3-0 and one win away from their third straight finals appearance, there has been plenty of talking points throughout this series. Subsequently, the talking point came from Stephen Curry and Dewayne Dedmon after game 3.
Late in the fourth quarter, Curry was guarding Dejounte Murray in the corner and Spurs’ center Dewayne Dedmon came over and set a screen on Curry. The screen sent Curry to the ground but in real time the play seemed harmless to most watching. However, after slowing the play down, Dedmon’s knee appears to hit Curry in the back of his leg.
During the Warriors practice Sunday, Curry was asked about the play and he gave his thoughts on Dedmon and the play itself.
Following from Chris Haynes of ESPN.
“I know he’s not a dirty player. I’m not going to try to mess up his reputation, but I feel like that was a dirty play,” Curry responded to ESPN. “Luckily no one was hurt.”
Whether the play was incidental or there was an intent, the Zaza Pachulia, and Kawhi Leonard incident in game one set the tone for everyone’s play to be looked at under a microscope. With game four to be played tonight, let’s hope everything goes well, there are no incidents, and everything goes off without a hitch.
