Stephen Curry Practices Monday, Has Discomfort In Foot
Stephen Curry has a history of ankle issues, so when he injured his foot over the weekend against the Spurs, the Golden State Warriors took precaution and sat him for Sunday’s game against the Pacers.
Curry practiced on Monday but is still listed as questionable and a game-time decision against the Wizards on Tuesday. Per Diamond Leung of the Bay Area News Group, Curry is admittedly thankful to have an injury that seems more foot-related than to the ankle:
“It makes me feel better knowing it’s not that same situation,” Curry said. “I’m two years removed from all that stuff. I’ve played 78-plus games the last two years, so I think we’re hopefully past that and blessed to be getting back healthy so I don’t have to worry about that.”
“So it’s not anything I’ve had before,” Curry said Monday. “So it’s not anything I had surgery on or a normal ankle sprain. It’s different.”
Curry had his last ankle surgery in April 2012 and has stayed relatively healthy since. The Warriors lost to the Pacers 104-98 without Curry, a leading MVP candidate, on Sunday. Needless to say the Warriors need their leader back healthy and comfortable, even if they are atop the conference.
