First time All-Star, Giannis Antetokounmpo, went at two-time MVP Steph Curry in the All-Star game on Sunday night with a couple of ferocious dunks. It all started when Curry tried to block a lob from Kyrie Irving to Antetokounmpo. As the ball went through the hoop, Curry was drilled in the head by the ball as the forward out of Greece slammed it down with force.
Next, off of a turnover by James Harden, Steph Curry didn’t want to get dunked on during a fast break by the Antetokounmpo, so he just laid on his stomach near the free throw line.
While Curry was able to avoid one dunk, he couldn’t hide for long as the Greek Freak threw down on Curry when he was least expecting it. Curry was just trying to grab a simple rebound, while Antetokounmpo went up and drilled a huge putback slam.
For the game, Giannis Antetokounmpo ended up scoring 30 points and added six rebounds, one assist, three steals, and one block. Curry put up 21 points, six assists, four rebounds, and one steal.
For at least a half, Antetokounmpo looked like he was in the running for All-Star Game MVP, but both Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis ran away with it as the game wore on.
