The Warriors consider Curry a vital part of their rebuilding plans, and a piece that they can move forward with – along with injured center Andrew Bogut – despite Curry’s own struggles with ankle injury over the past couple of seasons. Curry has long maintained a stance that wished to remain with the organization, and wanted to get a deal out the way so it would not become a distraction throughout the season.
