The entire Golden State Warriors fan base is holding their breath at this point, hoping Steph Curry will recover properly and quickly from the ankle injury. He originally suffered the injury in Game 1 of the 1st round vs. the Rockets, and missed Game 2’s win for the team. Curry is listed as day-to-day and is receiving treatment in order to get to play in game 3, but if it were up to him, he probably wouldn’t play.
According to Ethan Strauss of ESPN:
Curry: "Based on how I feel right now I probably couldn't play"

Curry on injury progress: "Today was, in the words of Ice Cube, a good day"

You can see that Steph Curry is taking this situation pretty lightly, but the Warriors aren’t. Curry suffered from continous ankle injuries during the early stages of his career, exactly on the same ankle he re-injured. In 2011 he played on 26 games because he missed most the season with ankle and leg issues. Caution is the best word that would fit this situation. The Warriors don’t want to effect their league MVP by putting him out their too early and re-injuring him. Draymond Green mentioned that they don’t really need Curry to get the win against the Rockets and that he should get the rest he needs. Steph Curry practised with the team, but mentioned that he still feels the pain.
Game 3 is tonight and we’ll find out soon enough if Steph Curry will be available to play. The more and more we get to the 9:30pm EST start time, it looks like we’ll see a Curry-less Warriors team for Game 3 and potentially the whole series. If I were the Warriors, why not rest Curry? You can probably beat the Rockets in 4-5 games without him, and this gives him at least a week and a half to rest that ankle. That kind of rest during Playoffs time, would make Stephen Curry a scary, scary, basketball player.
