Flores improved the Dolphins’ defense to become one of the top defenses in the NFL in his second year in charge of the team. In the 2020 season, they were sixth in points allowed, first in turnovers forced, second in touchdowns allowed, and first in interceptions. He also led the team to their first back-to-back winning seasons in 20 years.
“I am excited about Brian Flores joining our coaching staff given his history of developing and teaching defensive players during his time in the NFL,” Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin said on a statment. “Brian’s resume speaks for itself, and I look forward to him adding his expertise to help our team.”
Flores arrives to the leading defense in sacks this past season with 55 and the reigning Defensive Player of the Year winner TJ Watt accounted for 22.5, tying Michael Strahan’s record for most in a single season.
