Statik Selektah is preparing to drop his 8th studio album through Roc Nation management. With his ‘Lucky 7’ album releasing in 2015 one was under the impression this would be the super producers last body of work. Well here we are and the first single for ‘8’ has been released. Linking up with the likes of 2 Chainz and Wiz Khalife, Statik drops ‘Man of The Hour’. While the new record is filled with great instrumentation it is 2 Chainz and Wiz who hold it down respectively.
As for 2 Chainz, here is what Selektah had to say in reference to the two working together,
“He’s been killing features and his own records for a long time. When you hear these records, it’s just so different. No one has ever done what he did with this project. First of all, he’s rapping like he’s from Brooklyn. It’s just very New York. Basically, a down South guy made a New York album, so I’m excited for that.”
