It is starting to make a bit more sense as to why Drake hasn’t dropped Certified Lover Boy. At the end of last year, the Toronto native shared a trailer that hinted that his album would drop at the top of the new year. However, an injury reportedly slowed his release schedule. Instead, he announced that he would be releasing his latest album later in the year.
“I was planning to release my album this month but between surgery and rehab my energy has been dedicated to recovery,” Drake wrote on Instagram.
“I’m blessed to be back on my feet feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB won’t be dropping in January.”
While Drake may not be releasing any albums this month, he has decided to star in a new commercial. Alongside Patrick Mahomes, Drake starred in State Farm’s latest Super Bowl ad. Check out the commercial below and look out for tonight’s halftime show starring his friend, The Weeknd.
