According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney has reportedly denied the filmmakers request to push ‘Star Wars 7’ back to 2016.
Following the departure of writer Michael Arndt, director JJ Abrams and Lucasfilm president and producer Kathleen Kennedy took over the task of finishing the script who feel the film is no where near being complete by that time.
Reports have the film starting to film in London at the beginning of 2014 but there are no confirmations.
Disney CEO Robert Iger has created a release strategy that depends on the 2015 date. The studio wants to release Episodes VII, VIII AND IX within a six year period and another two spin offs in between.
There is no official release date for ‘Star Wars 7’.
