Casting for Star Wars: Episode VII is almost complete!
Alan Horn, chairman of Disney Studios told The Hollywood Reporter that most of the cast for the upcoming film are “in place.”
He said: “We have a lot of them. We’re just not completely done yet.”
Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o was recently linked to the movie, while Michael Fassbender, Hugo Weaving and Adam Driver are said to be negotiating roles.
Zac Efron and Breaking Bad star Jesse Plemons have also been rumored to be in talks for the upcoming project.
Horn also revealed in the interview that the screenplay for Episode VII is complete, emphasizing the importance of the script being perfect. “It’s all about the screenplay,” he said. “It has to be screenplay, screenplay, screenplay.”
The script has been co-written by Lawrence Kasdan and director JJ Abrams, following an early draft from Michael Arndt.
Star Wars: Episode VII is expected to hit theaters December 18, 2015.
