Socks enthusiast, here is your chance to rejoice. It has been announced that Stance Socks has officially inked a multiyear partnership with the NBA to become the official on-court socks provider for NBA teams.
This is a big deal as we move forward in a day and age where not only does your kicks have to match your outfit or jersey speaking in terms of NBA players, but now you have to coordinate with your socks. The great BIG said it best, ‘Coogi Down To The Socks’, so why can’t the NBA teams have Jersey colors all the way down to their socks? It only makes sense.
Stance is here to change all that. Starting next season players will be wearing team-themed socks as you can see with the examples and there will be two new general NBA socks that are white and black. Adding a bit of a flair to the players stylish looks, they can now not only dress off-court in style but do it on-court.
Aside from the every day socks to match the jerseys, when special holidays come up on the calendar like; Christmas, MLK Day, Easter and even All Star, according to Darren Rovell, players will be required to wear those socks made specifically for that marquee game.
This looks to be just the first step in a direction where a lot of big changes are going to take place in the NBA and I am all for it as long as the change is beneficial to growth. What do you guys think of this new socks deal between Stance and the NBA.
