Detroit Pistons team owner Tom Gores still has faith that this season can be rectified. He also still believes in the head coach of his team, Stan Van Gundy. But that is only for this season, not next season. Gores, from Rod Beard of The Detroit News, says that Van Gundy’s future will be discussed at the end of the season.
#Pistons Gores on SVG's future: "We talked the other day and I’m not giving up on Stan and I’m not giving up on this team.
"Stan and I discussed (next year) and we said we’re not going to talk about it until after this season."— Rod Beard (@detnewsRodBeard) March 10, 2018
Hopes were high when Detroit splashed and traded for star Blake Griffin, but the wins have not materialized. Detroit is a sizeable margin outside of the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference. The Pistons have lost eight of their last eleven games and would need a huge turnaround to make the postseason.
#Pistons owner Tom Gores says he's confident in SVG and they have talked but won't make a determination on next year until after the season.

The vote of confidence from Gores should put to bed any chance of Stan Van Gundy being fired during the season. That is not to say his job and role are safe after it ends. It was reported earlier in March that Detroit is interested in stripping Van Gundy of his President role and potentially coaching duties.
