
The San Antonio Spurs finally finished off their first round matchup with the Memphis Grizzlies. Just about nobody outside of the Memphis area picked the Grizzlies to even win a game against the juggernaut Spurs. San Antonio didn’t let up either, despite Memphis’ injury problems and they dominated the Grizzlies once again, winning game four and finalizing the sweep with a 116-95 victory.
Kawhi Leonard once again led the way for the Spurs scoring 21 points on 6-10 shooting and he also grabbed seven rebounds. LaMarcus Aldridge posted a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds and Tony Parker scored 16 for the Spurs.
Lance Stephenson came off the bench and scored a playoff career-high 26 points in 35 minutes and the duo of Zach Randolph and Matt Barnes combined for 30 points, 15 a piece, but as it was the entire series, It was just not enough to handle the Spurs.
With the win, Gregg Popovich achieved a sweep in a best-of-7 series for the ninth time in his career, the best in NBA history and Tim Duncan won his 155th career playoff game which is good for second all-time, tied with Robert Horry and trailing Derek Fisher by seven victories.
San Antonio will now wait to face the winner of the Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder series, which OKC currently leads 3-1.
