It’s amazing how much one man can affect so many peoples opinions, thoughts and consciousness.
For a few sports personalities, they messed up, big time when talking about Kobe Bryant, where he’s from and his decision to wear the “I Can’t Breathe” shirt.
Here are quotes on social media from Erika Reidt who is a Fox Sports reporter, Sports radio personality, John Middlekauff and CBS Sports personality, Doug Gottlieb.
Then, in almost classic fashion, they all apologized! Reidt even went ahead to say that she was hacked! Classic.
Then the Lakers star talked to the media after the game and talked about the decision to wear the shirt.
This is embarrassing by the sports personalities. My mom always taught me, if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it at all.
So why?
Maybe this is why they get paid the big bucks, to make these types of comments and get all the eyes on them. Either way, it doesn’t matter if you agree with Kobe, the Eric Garner case or what some of these players are trying to do in their own way to get a message across, but they’re going to do it.
It looks like ESPN’s J.A. Adande put it best in response to John Middlekauff’s comments.
@JohnMiddlekauff You know what Kobe has in common with Garner? He's human
