After a month of threats and hacks, it looks like ‘The Interview’ will be shown after all.
Tim League, founder of the Alamo Drafthouse, posted a tweet saying Sony gave the select theaters green light to screen the film.

The Wrap is also reporting that Sony will release the movie on Video on Demand. There were rumors the movie would also get a digital release on YouTube.
Michael Lynton, Chairman and CEO of Sony Entertainment said they were thrilled to have the movie be released.
“We have never given up on releasing The Interview and we’re excited our movie will be in a number of theaters on Christmas Day,” said Lynton. “At the same time, we are continuing our efforts to secure more platforms and more theaters so that this movie reaches the largest possible audience.”
‘The Interview’ has been wrapped in controversy since the trailer first debuted earlier this year. The movie centers around two talk show hosts who are hired to kill North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. North Korea has sent several threats to the United States that if the movie is released they will retaliate. The threats caused Sony to cancel the New York premiere of the film and several theater chains to refuse to show the movie.
It’s still unclear how many theaters will get to screen ‘The Interview’.
