Firmware 2.0, the update I’ve personally been waiting for. Sony has finally revealed that YouTube will be coming in this update — yes, it was revealed at E3, but there wasn’t any info on its update at the time. Also in this FW 2.0 update is the new and amazing SHAREplay feature. Sony describes it as a “virtual couch”. With SHAREplay you’ll be able to invite your ps4 friends to your game session — even if they DO NOT own said game that you’re playing. One example they give is NBA 2k, if you invite your friend to a game of NBA 2k, it will be a ‘quick game’ as opposed to the ‘online ranked’ matches. This feature will sure add fuel to all the gaming rivalries between friends across the Playstation Nation.
Also, with SHAREplay, friends will be able to take over your game if you need help during your single player campaigns. For example, if you were to be playing ‘The Last Of Us: Remastered’ and you couldn’t get pass those annoying clickers or human stragglers? You can just ask your buddy to take over if he or she has completed said part.
Another feature that will be added with this update will be broadcasting and the ability to share videos(finally). You’ll also be able to upload your videos to YouTube straight from your console. ‘Whats New’ will also be receiving a brief update and will now be updated in real time.
