Pharrell’s ‘Something in the Water’ festival took place this past weekend at Virginia Beach. Big names such as Snoop Dogg, Missy Elliott, and Usher took the festival stage in front of thousands. We first broke the news that JAY-Z would be making a surprise appearance on Saturday. The two artists performed their hit song “Frontin”.
According to Wavy, another ‘Something in the Water’ festival is in the works for 2020.
“The city manager’s proposed 2020 budget includes funds for another Something in the Water festival. An additional $250,000 is being included in the budget for Convention and Visitors Bureau in order to sponsor another installment of the festival that city leaders are already deeming a huge success.”
Virginia Beach spent approximately the same amount for this year’s event. According to city spokeswoman Julie Hill, the next festival would be taking place during the fourth weekend of 2020. Pharrell told Wavy in an interview that he hopes to do it again, and it looks like he will.
