One-half of the famous Knowles sisters who have blessed us over the years with their music, Solange has truly come into her own. Most recently giving us A Seat At The Table, the LP hit home with plenty of listeners and hasn’t left our rotations, years later.
After storming the festival circuit in support of the Grammy-nominated album, Solange is ready to hop back into the swing of things as she has announced that she will be releasing a new album this Fall. Sitting down with The New York Times for a new interview, Solange has a lot in store.
Solange keeps these details close: The record will likely arrive into the world fully formed at some mysterious and unexpected moment, like a meteor cratering into the culture. But she will not be rushed.
Refreshing news to hear, especially when you consider how strong R&B has been this year, it appears that Solange will once again bring something different to the forefront.
The new album calls. The making of it has taken Solange to New Orleans (where she often lives), Jamaica, California’s Topanga Canyon and back to a kind of Houston of the mind. “There is a lot of jazz at the core,” she emailed me a few days after our meeting. “But with electronic and hip-hop drum and bass because I want it to bang and make your trunk rattle.”
Highly anticipated, we can’t wait to hear what the star will bring about next. Once thing that’s for certain, we will all be tuned in.
