There’s no secret about it, the best and brightest stars enjoy themselves a nice snapchat session with the NBA having a crop of stars using it almost daily. From the most notorious NBA snapchat user Richard Jefferson to Team USA’s plane karaoke session , Hassan Whiteside’s fascination with snapchatting just about everything and even Draymond Green making a very big error in judgment, the NBA’s stars are very active on the app.
Snapchat is always changing things in their formula. From adding location and facial filters to posting content from different newsmakers under their ‘discover’ tab, Snapchat is always looking to change the game. They might have done just that with a new device, ‘Snapchat spectacles’.
And the ‘Snapchat Spectacles’ are exactly what you think they are. They are glasses but for snapchat. They have a camera on them with an ability to click a button and record the 10-second first person view of the scene. They light up when you record and even charge by simply putting them back in their case. It’s quite a novel idea.
With the NBA having a new mission to increase their snapchat output for the 2016-17 season, of course, these new glasses have to be at the forefront of their mission. Richard Jefferson got a pair last week and he showed them off during practice and Pelicans star big man Anthony Davis did the same during a shootaround. Langston Galloway even got in on the action showing off his locker.
