The Philadelphia 76ers have been fined $3 million dollars (hefty) for not disclosing information regarding Jrue Holiday’s injury problems. 2 years ago, the Philadelphia 76ers traded their first round pick Nerlens Noel for point-guard and then All-Star Jrue Holiday. Holiday led the Sixers to the NBA Playoffs the year before and seemed like an up and coming star in the NBA. Fast forward 2 years and Jrue Holiday has played in 74 games throughout his 2 years as a New Orleans Pelican. Holiday has barely been able to contribute much, while Noel, has become a defensive stopper for the Sixers and seems to be on his way up the leagues ladder. Just think about it like this, the Pelicans would have had Nerlens Noel and Anthony Davis. No one would ever make a lay up on that team.
Now the Sixers have to pay for their sneaky and snake actions with a very hefty fine. According to Kurt Helin of ProBasketballTalk:
The 76ers were ordered to pay the New Orleans Pelicans $3 million by the NBA last season for not fully disclosing Jrue Holiday’s injury history before he was traded two years ago, according to two sources….
The sources said Holiday played with stress fractures in his lower right leg during his final season with the Sixers. However, the sources said, those injures weren’t fully disclosed to the Pelicans.
I’d be super man if I were a New Orleans Pelicans fan and if I were Anthony Davis or anyone trying to help this franchise. I would be mad at Jrue Holiday for not personally disclosing the information. Is it just my bad opinion for Sam Hinkie’s recent decision? Yes. He’s made it clear, he does not know what he’s doing. He has no direction for the Sixers to hed to, he has what seems like a million big-men, and the Sixers don’t seem like they are turning it around. $3 million is fitting for the crime.
