Exciting news for Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants fans!
America Ferrera and Amber Tamblyn have revealed that a third STP film is in the works.
Ferrera, who starred as Carmen Lowell told People: “It’s actually very much in the works!”
The film franchise is based on the book seriees by Ann Brashares, with the first film released in 2005 and the sequel in released in 2008.
Ferrera continued saying:
“There’s a fifth book, and what’s wonderful about it is, and the series to begin with, is that it’s really raw and honest about friendship and how hard it can be and how it changes as you grow up!”
She also added that she hopes the entire cast would come back for another film.
Tamblyn who also starred in the film as Tibby Tomko-Rollins, wouldn’t give much details about the film but said:
“I think in the spirit of the magical pants that there is something magical brewing!”
The fifth book takes place several years after the second film, as the childhood friends are now adults who have fallen out of touch. A serious event takes place and eventually brings the group back together.
As of now, there is no release date or confirmation on if Blake Lively or Alexis Bledel -who also starred in the original films- would be returning to reprise their role.
