The word, “legend”, is often thrown around, but it rarely applies. When we’re having a conversation about the actor Sidney Poitier, the word “legend” does not fit because it is an understatement of all that he has accomplished. Poitier is one of the most talented and hard working actors to have ever lived. Most notably, he starred in the first production of A Raisin In The Sun and became the first Black Actor to ever be nominated for an Academy Award. Beyond his own career, Poitier has done wonders as a mentor and inspiration to the likes of Denzel Washington, Hill Harper and many more. Today, he turns ninety-two years young.
