Down the road, the two networks are also exploring the possibility of creating original series for the channel. One of the key factors in making the decision to create original series will be subscriber growth for the channel.
“The goal for Showtime is to become broader, more accessible to different demo targets. And we think this is a very good first step to get there,” Showtime CFO Tom Christie said.
