Shelvin Mack Will Need Shoulder Surgery

Shelvin Mack has solidified himself as a quality guard to have at the back of a team’s rotation, and even though his role was small, it was necessary to get the Hawks to the Eastern Conference Finals. As the team’s season has ended, the wear and tear put on them has added up, and Mack is just another Hawk set to have surgery. He now joins Kyle Korver (ankle) and Paul Millsap (shoulder) as Atlanta players who will require surgery before they can begin to prepare for next season.

Mack is still yet to prove he should be a starter in the league, so this injury should not scare either Atlanta or another team from wanting to have him in a backup role. As long as surgery goes well, Mack will be back next season ready to contribute to a team looking to continue improving.
