Shelvin Mack, getting playing time due to an injured Jeff Teague, went seven of eight from the field including 100% from three-point range to lead the Hawks to a 127-98 win in Cleveland Wednesday night.
Mack finished with 24 points, 17 of them coming in the second quarter.
The Cavs, led by Lebron James and Dion Waiters who both scored 21 points, had the lead at the end of the first quarter and held a 12 point advantage late in the first half.
A Shelvin Mack three with just over three minutes to play in the half gave the Hawks their first lead of the night and they never looked backed.
Atlanta would open up the second half on an 18-5 run as the Cavs couldn’t recover.
The Cavs return to action Friday night as they host the Nets while the Hawks will travel to Houston for a meeting with the Rockets.
