Wizards’ Sheldon Mac (formerly Sheldon McLellan; legally changed his name in February) likely tore his Achilles tendon, reports Candace Buckner of the Washington Post:
Washington Wizards swing man Sheldon Mac suffered a serious injury to his lower left leg Sunday night in the team’s exhibition game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Wizards fear that Mac tore his left Achilles’ tendon, according to a source. He is scheduled to have an MRI on Monday.
Mac suffered the injury during the second quarter of Sunday evening’s preseason game vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Mac, 24, appeared in 30 games (including three starts in lieu of the injured Bradley Beal) for the Wizards last season, averaging 3 points and 1.1 rebound per game while shooting 40 percent from the field.
Mac signed with the Wizards in 2016 after going undrafted out of the University of Miami (Fla).
