If there were any inklings of animosity left between former teammates Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal, I think it’s safe to say they have been completely erased. The two are close enough, it seems, that Kobe will be training with Shaq’s son this summer.
Shareef O’Neal is a four-star prospect currently in high school. The 16-year-old power forward seems to want to follow in his father’s gigantic footsteps and become a professional basketball player.
The younger O’Neal was stopped by TMZ Sports, recently, and revealed that not only are his father and Bryant back to being friends, but the recently retired Lakers legend will be helping him train this summer after the two spoke about it at the All-Star Weekend this season.
This is obviously enticing news for O’Neal and for those interested in seeing what his good genes can do for him in the future.
We have already witnessed the magic grown by the connection between Kobe Bryant and one O’Neal, even if it did end on a sour note. Perhaps Shareef can replicate that in a new way in the coming years.
