The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall Of Fame are most like going to have one of their best classes ever this year.
This year the Basketball Hall Of Fame Class will be stacked with names that are first ballot and it cannot be denied. But at the moment we’re at the point where we take a look at the finalists and there are some good names in there. Here’s the full list:
Allen Iverson – Philadelphia 76ers
Bo Ryan – University of Wisconsin
Darrell Garretson – NBA Referee
Eddie Sutton – Oklahoma State University
John McClendon – Cleveland State University
Kevin Johnson – Phoenix Suns
Lefty Driesell – University of Maryland
Leta Andrews – Granbury High School
Muffet McGraw – University of Notre Dame
Robert Hughes – Paul Laurence Dunbar High School
Shaquille O’Neal – Los Angeles Lakers
Sheryl Swoopes – Houston Comets
Tom Izzo – Michigan State University
1954-58 Wayland Baptist University
Now that is the list voted by the North American and Women’s committee’s.
That is why Yao Ming is not on the list. Don’t worry, he is in the section voted by the Early African-American Pioneers, International, Contributor and Veterans’ committees. That list won’t come until April.
What I like about these is the names you haven’t heard of. When I see Wayland Baptist University I want to look them up. Is it just me who gets intrigued by the unknown finalists?
That is a pretty good list nevertheless and I can speak for the whole NBA on DefPen family when I congratulate all finalists.
