Shaquille O’Neal’s Basketball Hall of Fame induction will take place on Friday, and he’s picked four Hall-of-Famers to present him at the ceremony. From Shams Charania of The Vertical:
O’Neal told The Vertical that he has chosen four Hall of Famers – Isiah Thomas, Julius Erving, Bill Russell and Alonzo Mourning – to present him in Friday’s ceremony
O’Neal has gone on record as saying that Erving is his favorite player of all time, and that Russell is one of his top-five favorites. O’Neal played with Mourning on the Miami Heat, and works with Thomas on TNT.
O’Neal will go down as one of the, if not the most dominant player in NBA history. His bled of size and athleticism is totally unique; no other player has ever combined such massive size with the level of agility that O’Neal possessed.
Over the course of his 19-year NBA career, O’Neal won four championships, three Finals MVPs, one regular season MVP two scoring titles, and one Rookie of the Year award. Shaq was also named to 15 All-Star games and 14 All-NBA teams (eight First-Team selections).
O’Neal currently ranks seventh all-time in NBA history in total points scored, and 14th in total rebounds.
