Larkin has had an interesting summer. He initially received an offer sheet from Barcelona, and Baskonia had the option to match due to the tanteo right in Liga ACB which is essentially their version of restricted free-agency. Baskonia decided to match which meant they had his rights and a team from another country could buy him out or he would play for Baskonia next season.
The Celtics decided to be the team and buy him out, and sign him to the minimum which is $1.5-million, Eurohoops Nikos Varlas reports.
Larkin could’ve made more money in Europe after his stellar season where he averaged 13ppg, 5.7apg, 2.7rpg, and 1.3spg. It’s clear that Larkin’s goal is to be an NBA player after this decision. He explained this in a text message to HoopsHype’s Alex Kennedy.

With Larkin and Teodosic officially off the market, Brad Wanamaker is the best free agent point guard left on the market and he has NBA interest as well. The European market is getting picked apart, and Euroleague only has themselves to blame.
