Shabazz Napier lasted only 51 games into his rookie season with the Miami Heat before having hernia surgery. The season was ended prematurely with averages of 5.1 points, 2.5 assists, and 2.2 rebounds per game.
Assuming he has fully recovered from surgery, Napier plans to participate in the 2016 summer league with Miami. Not all sophomores in the league choose to participate in summer league play, but many do so in order to be able to get more acclimated with the system they will be playing in.
Shabazz Napier says he plans to play summer league for Heat if he is fully past his hernia surgery.

Summer league will highly benefit Napier as he looks to get back into basketball activities before the competition matters. Before he has to compete with the talent in the NBA, Napier needs to first get back to the motions. Playing in summer league will be a very smart decision for any player looking to come back from an injury, and should be highly beneficial to the Heat in this situation.
