With the Minnesota Timberwolves entering contention mode, they’ve been required to make some changes with their youth movement. These changes have included acquiring Jimmy Butler for Zach LaVine, their former starting two-guard whose season ended with a Torn Right ACL. The second notable decision by the franchise was deciding not to re-sign Shabazz Muhammad, by rescinding their qualifying offer after the Butler deal.
According to a source, Muhammad’s life as an unrestricted free agent is “heating up” with interest from the Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks, Orlando Magic and Chicago Bulls. From the teams interested in the services of the 24-year-old swingman, he’s likely to join the eastern conference and join a middle of the pack or rebuilding team.
