What’s funny about some players in College is how they come out of nowhere and then enter the Draft, going for the “hidden gem” category. That player that’s not picked in the top 15 and just so happens to be a beast.
Now Seton Hall’s Isaiah Whitehead sounds decent on the face of it. But who the hell watched Seton Hall regularly this season?
Seriously all these talking heads saying “This Isaiah Whitehead can ball” and I’m sitting there going, “So how many games you watched?”. It’s fine saying Whitehead is their best player on the team but they talk about him as if he’s a gem that no other scout has clocked on. I’m sure many scouts know about him don’t worry, if he is legit we would see him high on the mock drafts.
But nevertheless, Isaiah Whitehead is thinking about the Draft.
It is unclear whether the 6-foot-4 Brooklyn native will hire an agent. If he chooses not to he could return to campus for his junior season.
“We will have to be even more aware of the younger guys because they lose nothing by testing the waters now,” one NBA scout said.
“Any talented young guy will want and be able to get feedback from the NBA by coming for a workout. It’s definitely more work for the scouting departments.“
According to DraftExpress, Whitehead is 30th among sophomores.
Not 30th overall, just for the sophomores he’s 30th. Really? And wasn’t he basically a no show in their one & done in the NCAA tournament? I don’t know. We’ll see what this kid can do maybe next year. That’s if he stays in College.
