The Oklahoma City Thunder have reached agreement with Serge Ibaka on a four-year deal that will see the Congo-born, Spanish national team player, paid $40 million plus. The deal leaves the franchise with little room to manoeuvre next summer when Sixth Man of the Year winning guard James Harden is out of contract.
Ibaka could have also become a restricted fre agent next July, but Oklahoma chose to secure his long-term services now.
Ibaka averaged 9.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.6 blocks per game last season as the Oklahoma City Thunder progressed to their first NBA Finals appearance.
